New Policy Encourages Community Service

(DUBLIN, April 24, 2002) - In a progressive new policy aimed at giving back to
the community, employees of BMW Financial Services can make volunteer work a
part of their job. The policy, which covers nearly 450 BMW associates in three
locations, allows for one day of community service each year.

"Many of our employees already volunteer considerable time in community
service-related activities and we were looking for a meaningful way to
recognize these efforts and stimulate even more community service," said
Lindsay Duffield, Vice President of Operations for BMW Financial Services NA.
"This policy recognizes our employees' dedication as well as the importance and
need for personal involvement in our community."

Community Service Program Launches April 27th with Christmas in April
About 50 BMW Financial Services associates will participate in the "Christmas
in April" activities on April 27. BMW Financial Services will buy the
materials to lay a new kitchen floor in the Oak Street home of a 63-year-old
Julia Birtha, who is legally blind following two brain surgeries. These home
improvements will allow her to continue living in her home of 32 years. BMW
Financial Services will install the new floor and provide other improvements to
the home.

BMW Financial Services began its involvement with Christmas in April in 1999.
Other BMW FS sponsored community projects include Big Brothers and Big Sisters,
Metro Parks and Children's Hospital.

Under the new policy, BMW Financial Services associates - the majority of whom
are in Dublin - may volunteer with qualifying non-profit organizations or
participate in one of four organized events per year, including the "Christmas
in April" home improvement program.

Associates at other BMW Financial Services based elsewhere in the U.S. are
encouraged to volunteer in their own communities and will receive an extra day
off for community service, too. Other offices are in Woodcliff Lake, New
Jersey and at the BMW Bank of North America in Salt Lake City, Utah.
