• BMW i4 crowned
Company Car of the Year and MINI Clubman wins Dog-Friendly Car of the
Year at the 2022 News UK Motor Awards
BMW Group has had a successful start to the autumn with multiple
awards from Carbuyer, Parkers and News UK. Taking centre-stage, the
all-electric BMW i4 claimed three awards, demonstrating its unrivalled
capability in the company car market. MINI Convertible also proved to
be another top contender, securing a double win for Best New and Used Convertible.
Five wins for the BMW Group at the 2023 Car Buyer Best Car Awards
The BMW Group secured an impressive five wins at the
Carbuyer Best Car Awards 2023. To be considered in each category, a
model needs to have excelled in the areas of running costs, safety,
technology, performance and practicality. It’s not enough to do well
in just one or two of these areas, the car must demonstrate
exceptional performance across the board.
The BMW i4 took home the award for Best Company Car, with judges
describing the model as “a fantastic all-rounder”, that is “great to
drive, loaded with technology” and boasts “a strong range for
rock-bottom running costs.”
Another of Carbuyer’s “great all-rounders” was the BMW 2 Series
Coupé, which took home the title of Best Sports Car. Judges commended
the car’s “strong engines and efficiency, plus that usual BMW
handling” and stated that the model encapsulates everything that they
love about the BMW 4 Series into “a more compact” package.
Despite BMW i3 production recently coming to a close earlier
this year, this pioneer’s legacy continues, as it claimed the award
for Best Used Small Electric Car. Judges commented, "now out of
production, it surely won't be long before the BMW i3 gains a cult
following as one of the most innovative early EVs to bring electric
motoring to the masses. Eye-catching, great to drive and brilliantly
efficient, used buyers should grab one while they still can..."
The MINI Convertible stole the show at this year’s Best Car
Awards, with a double win across two categories. The first category
was Best Convertible, with Carbuyer affirming their “favourite
drop-top’s” best-in-class status,"year after year, the MINI
Convertible simply cannot be beaten” and continues to be their “Best
Convertible for 2023.” The MINI was also the “top-choice” in the used
car market, with judges praising the model for its value for money.
Parkers present the award for Best Company Car 2023 to the BMW i4
Celebrating those cars that set the standard, the
Parkers New Car Awards seeks to recommend the best vehicles for the
United Kingdom’s car-buying public.
The “deeply impressive” BMW i4 stood out from the crowd,
securing the victory for Best Company Car 2023. Commenting on the win,
Keith Adams, Editor at Parkers said that the i4 “offers all the
performance and poise we’ve come to expect from a petrol-powered BMW
saloon but, because it’s electric, it doesn’t emit a single gram of
CO2. And it can cover up to 367 miles per charge, which is bordering
on combustion car levels of convenience.” Although, the real “icing on
the cake” for judges was the model’s brilliant tax efficiency for
company car users.
BMW i4 and MINI Clubman impress judges at the 2022 News UK
Motor Awards
The BMW i4 continued its October winning streak last
night at the News UK Motor Awards, receiving the award for Company Car
of the Year. Combining sportiness with long-distance ability, the i4
has proven to impress judges time and time again and this recent
victory brings the trailblazing saloon’s total number of accolades to
nine in the UK alone this year.
MINI also triumphed at the awards, as the MINI Clubman was
presented with the award for Dog-Friendly Car of the Year for the
second year running. MINI has worked hard over the past year to become
the first Dogs Trust approved, dog-friendly car retailer, and
receiving this recognition from the News UK team further validates
MINI’s dog-friendly status.
