At the Paris Motor Show, the Mondial de l'Automobile, BMW is presenting
a whole range of world and European debuts once again underlining the brand's
claim to leadership in automobile production as a genuine trendsetter.
The absolute highlight this year is the world debut of the BMW Z4,
a two-seater clearly developed first and foremost for dynamic driving pleasure.
Being introduced into the market this autumn in the USA and in Europe in spring
2003, this roadster truly outstanding in every respect clearly bears out BMW's
competence in the sports car segment.

Years ago BMW successfully put an end to the old myth that the diesel engine
and sporting performance are a contradiction in terms. Now, for two decades,
BMW has proved exactly the opposite - that performance and agility,
on the one hand, and comfort and economy, on the other, by no means rule each
other out. And now the brand is setting the standard once again
at the Paris Motor Show, new 6- and 8-cylinder diesel engines in the
BMW 7 Series opening up a new dimension in diesel motoring.

With BMW and other manufacturers, modern automotive engineering and development
means taking a very close, consistent and perseverant look at all the details.
But now BMW is once again presenting a true revolution in automotive technology
at the Paris Show: Creating intelligent Adaptive Light Control (ALC), BMW's
engineers have succeeded in giving the BMW driver
a very special lights technology in future literally "looking ahead" round each
bend in the road. This BMW innovation about to enter series production improves
the driver's vision in the dark by up to one-third, enabling him to recognise
objects and obstacles with unprecedented clarity.

CO2 emission information.

The values for fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and energy consumption shown were determined in a standardised test cycle according to the European Regulation (EC) 715/2007 in the version currently applicable. The figures refer to a vehicle with basic configuration in Germany and the range shown considers transmission (automatic or manual) and the different wheels and tyres available on the selected model and may vary during the configuration.

The values of the vehicles labelled with (*), are already based on the test cycle according to the new WLTP regulation and are translated back into NEDC-equivalent values in order to allow a comparison between vehicles. More information on the transition from NEDC to WLTP test procedures can be found here.

These figures are intended for comparison purposes and may not be representative of what a user achieves under usual driving conditions. For plug-in hybrid vehicles and battery electric vehicles the figures have been obtained using a combination of battery power and petrol fuel after the battery had been fully charged. Plug-in hybrid vehicles and battery electric vehicles require mains electricity for charging. The CO2 emissions labels are determined according to Directive 1999/94/EC and the Passenger Car (Fuel consumption and CO2 Emissions Information) Regulations 2001, as amended. They are based on the fuel consumption, CO2 values and energy consumptions according to the NEDC cycle.

A guide on fuel economy and CO2 emissions which contains data for all new passenger car models is available at any point of sale free of charge. For further information you can also visit this link.
