Paycheck, starring Ben Affleck and Uma Thurman, is a blockbuster of a film in
the best traditions of the Hollywood action movie. The usual diet of fast-paced
action, impossibly good looking hero and heroine, gadgets and machines are
augmented by a science fiction plot and several mandatory chase sequences. The
most hair-raising of these involve the good guys (Ben and Uma, naturally) being
chased by the bad guys who - surprise, surprise - want to kill Ben's character.

The chase lasts for seven minutes, takes place on the streets of Seattle and is
choreographed through oncoming traffic. What makes this chase different is that
the good guys are not driving a souped-up, Steve McQueen-style, tyre-squealing
coupe in the great Bullet car chase tradition, but an agile and powerful modern
motorcycle - a highly manoeuvrable BMW R1150 R Rockster.

Audiences will only see Ben and Uma riding a Matte Black and Orange Metallic
Rockster but filming the complex chase sequence involved a total of six bikes
(how many survived the Hollywood stunt treatment, has not been revealed).
Affleck is such an out-and-out motorcycle nut that the stunt crew found it
difficult to persuade him to hand over the Rockster for the more 'risky' riding
shots. In fact, some of the scenes actually took fewer takes because Ben did a
number of his own high-speed stunts.

BMW is naturally delighted at the Rockster's role in the film. Tom Purves, who
is chairman and CEO of BMW (US) Holding Corporation, was buoyant: "The Rockster
was the perfect choice ..... and gave BMW the opportunity to show what one of
its bikes can do when really put to the test," he said. "This [the Rockster] is
a great riding machine for tight situations and quick getaways and, as you can
see in the film, even when you are being chased by bad guys you can still have
fun!"

As part of Paycheck's promotional activities, Ben Affleck appeared on MTV's
Total Request Live (TRL) with Carson Daly to talk about the film in front of a
live audience. During the programme's "12 Days of Christmas" segment, Ben
presented a lucky member of the audience with a surprise dream gift straight
from the movie - a 2004 BMW R1150 R Rockster.

Expect to see the Paramount Pictures and DreamWorks film Paycheck, starring Ben
Affleck and Uma Thurman, on UK screens early in the New Year.

CO2 emission information.

The values for fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and energy consumption shown were determined in a standardised test cycle according to the European Regulation (EC) 715/2007 in the version currently applicable. The figures refer to a vehicle with basic configuration in Germany and the range shown considers transmission (automatic or manual) and the different wheels and tyres available on the selected model and may vary during the configuration.

The values of the vehicles labelled with (*), are already based on the test cycle according to the new WLTP regulation and are translated back into NEDC-equivalent values in order to allow a comparison between vehicles. More information on the transition from NEDC to WLTP test procedures can be found here.

These figures are intended for comparison purposes and may not be representative of what a user achieves under usual driving conditions. For plug-in hybrid vehicles and battery electric vehicles the figures have been obtained using a combination of battery power and petrol fuel after the battery had been fully charged. Plug-in hybrid vehicles and battery electric vehicles require mains electricity for charging. The CO2 emissions labels are determined according to Directive 1999/94/EC and the Passenger Car (Fuel consumption and CO2 Emissions Information) Regulations 2001, as amended. They are based on the fuel consumption, CO2 values and energy consumptions according to the NEDC cycle.

A guide on fuel economy and CO2 emissions which contains data for all new passenger car models is available at any point of sale free of charge. For further information you can also visit this link.
