Spring is here and the change in the weather signals a greater choice of
protective rider equipment. With warmer temperatures comes a desire for
lightweight motorcycle clothing but this doesn't have to mean a compromise on
safety. A combination of top quality protection and superior rider comfort is
now attainable in the form of the new BMW Boulder jacket and City trousers.

Taken from the 2006 Rider Equipment collection, this fashionable two-piece
textile suit has been designed with style and safety in mind, and is
waterproof, windproof and washable. A combination of Cordura and denim
materials also ensures that the suit looks as good off the bike as on it. The
jacket and trousers can be fastened together or unfastened via a quick and easy
interconnecting zipper, ensuring that the suit transfers seamlessly from
motorcycle use to street wear. This makes it a perfect choice for city
commuters and leisure-lovers.

New BMW-developed NP protectors (soft and flexible, but offering the best
absorption figures on the market) ensure that the knees, back, elbows and
shoulders are fully covered, as the protectors 'mould' themselves to vulnerable
parts of the body. All are height adjustable and offer maximum energy absorbing
facilities.

Velcro fastenings and zippers around the shin area of the trousers enable
adjustment to the correct width of the rider's legs. Adjustable cuff, sleeve
and waist widths also add to the functionality of the suit, which is designed
to be comfortable in temperatures more likely to be encountered on a southern
European tour than in the UK.

In keeping with the unpredictable British weather however, the multi-functional
Boulder jacket can be adjusted to suit the climate. For those rare warm summer
days, the breathable jacket features ventilation zippers in the front and back,
and removable sleeves transform it into a waistcoat to wear off the motorcycle.
For cooler days, the removable Venturi insert provides protection from wind and
rain.

Function and protection do not have to mean a compromise on practicality with
Boulder jacket and City trousers featuring numerous easy-to-access pockets.
With four pockets incorporated into the design of the trousers and five into
the jacket (including an inside waterproof compartment) there is plenty of
space for stowing those essential items.

Available in sizes S-XXXL for men and women, the stylish dark grey Boulder
jacket and anthracite City trousers are the perfect solution for riders seeking
a suit that looks great and works on and off the motorcycle. Versatile,
practical, fashionable and safe are the keywords for this high-quality
clothing.

The Boulder jacket is priced at £245 and the City trousers are £120. Both items
are now available from BMW Motorrad dealerships nationwide.

CO2 emission information.

The values for fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and energy consumption shown were determined in a standardised test cycle according to the European Regulation (EC) 715/2007 in the version currently applicable. The figures refer to a vehicle with basic configuration in Germany and the range shown considers transmission (automatic or manual) and the different wheels and tyres available on the selected model and may vary during the configuration.

The values of the vehicles labelled with (*), are already based on the test cycle according to the new WLTP regulation and are translated back into NEDC-equivalent values in order to allow a comparison between vehicles. More information on the transition from NEDC to WLTP test procedures can be found here.

These figures are intended for comparison purposes and may not be representative of what a user achieves under usual driving conditions. For plug-in hybrid vehicles and battery electric vehicles the figures have been obtained using a combination of battery power and petrol fuel after the battery had been fully charged. Plug-in hybrid vehicles and battery electric vehicles require mains electricity for charging. The CO2 emissions labels are determined according to Directive 1999/94/EC and the Passenger Car (Fuel consumption and CO2 Emissions Information) Regulations 2001, as amended. They are based on the fuel consumption, CO2 values and energy consumptions according to the NEDC cycle.

A guide on fuel economy and CO2 emissions which contains data for all new passenger car models is available at any point of sale free of charge. For further information you can also visit this link.
