Only the world's top professional enduro riders and selected motorcycle
journalists have had the opportunity to experience the world's most powerful
twin-cylinder enduro motorcycle on the trail, and to this day, off-road
enthusiasts have only been able to read about it in the motorcycle press.
However, BMW's new HP2 (High Performance 2-cylinder) enduro machine is just
weeks away from being officially launched across the entire Motorrad UK dealer
network on Saturday 10 September.

Dealerships across the country are gearing up for a day of HP2 excitement as
BMW's unique off-road boxer twin takes centre stage in showrooms. Following a
successful international press launch at the AltoTuria Enduro Park in Spain
earlier this summer, the launch will be the first chance for dirt-riding
enthusiasts in the UK to try BMW's powerful and innovative enduro machine for
size.

Showroom doors will be wide-open and visitors will be able to see the new HP2
in the metal, as well as watch exciting footage of the HP2 in action at
race-events around Europe. Customers will also be able to take away the latest
issue of BMW Bikes magazine, featuring an in-depth review of the HP2 model
launch, as well as a special 25 years of the GS supplement.

As an added-value incentive, all riders who purchase the new HP2 from any BMW
Motorrad UK dealership in 2005 will automatically receive a unique off-road HP2
experience which includes a day's off-road training at BMW's Off-Road School in
Wales directed by 6-times Dakar rally competitor Simon Pavey, as well as dinner
and overnight accommodation.

Weighing only 175kg dry (24kg less than the R1200 GS) and featuring an
increased power output of 105 bhp, the HP2 is packed with innovations such as
the world's first motorcycle spring/damper system running exclusively on air.
Production volumes of the HP2 will remain relatively low, making this a truly
exclusive motorcycle for enthusiasts who want a road-legal motorcycle with
incredible off-road potential.

The new BMW HP2 will be available at all BMW Motorrad dealerships from Saturday
10 September priced at £11,995 on the road. This price includes a standard
two-year unlimited mileage warranty.

CO2 emission information.

The values for fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and energy consumption shown were determined in a standardised test cycle according to the European Regulation (EC) 715/2007 in the version currently applicable. The figures refer to a vehicle with basic configuration in Germany and the range shown considers transmission (automatic or manual) and the different wheels and tyres available on the selected model and may vary during the configuration.

The values of the vehicles labelled with (*), are already based on the test cycle according to the new WLTP regulation and are translated back into NEDC-equivalent values in order to allow a comparison between vehicles. More information on the transition from NEDC to WLTP test procedures can be found here.

These figures are intended for comparison purposes and may not be representative of what a user achieves under usual driving conditions. For plug-in hybrid vehicles and battery electric vehicles the figures have been obtained using a combination of battery power and petrol fuel after the battery had been fully charged. Plug-in hybrid vehicles and battery electric vehicles require mains electricity for charging. The CO2 emissions labels are determined according to Directive 1999/94/EC and the Passenger Car (Fuel consumption and CO2 Emissions Information) Regulations 2001, as amended. They are based on the fuel consumption, CO2 values and energy consumptions according to the NEDC cycle.

A guide on fuel economy and CO2 emissions which contains data for all new passenger car models is available at any point of sale free of charge. For further information you can also visit this link.
