Munich. After serving as Executive Chef of BMW Welt’s “EssZimmer by Käfer” for more than a decade, star chef Bobby Bräuer will be leaving the restaurant, effective 31 December 2024. Throughout his career, the Munich native has showcased his culinary expertise at many different locations, including Düsseldorf, Berlin and Kitzbühel, and his creations have received accolades from leading gastronomy guides.
In 2012, Bräuer took over as chef de cuisine at EssZimmer, earning his first Michelin star within a year and a second just one year later. Under his leadership, EssZimmer by Käfer evolved into one of Germany's top gourmet destinations.
“With EssZimmer, we have created a wonderful haven for culinary enjoyment, a place where I could truly make my mark. Leaving EssZimmer is not an easy decision, but I am excited about exploring new projects and look forward to returning soon as a guest. Thank you to BMW and Käfer for 12 remarkable years,” said Bräuer.
Sandra Wittemer, head of BMW Welt, paid tribute to Bräuer’s achievements: “Bobby Bräuer has transformed EssZimmer into a premier gourmet destination. His culinary expertise has been a true enrichment for BMW Welt's gastronomic offering.”
As a farewell gift, Bräuer has created the “Menu Classique”, which will be served at EssZimmer by Käfer until the end of December. “We will be revealing our plans for the future shortly!” promised Wittemer.
