British GT Championship: One-two for the BMW Z4 GT3 in Brands Hatch.
Just one week after its impressive outing at the 24-hour race at Spa-Francorchamps (BE), Ecurie Ecosse celebrated its second win of the season in the British GT Championship. The team won the fifth round of the season contested at Brands Hatch (GB). Marco Attard (GB) and Alexander Sims (GB) had started the race from fourth on the grid in their number 1 BMW Z4 GT3 and put in a great fight-back. Nine minutes before the end of the race Sims made the deciding move that brought him into the lead. After 76 laps he crossed the line 3.6 seconds in front of Joe Osborne (GB) and Lee Mowle (GB) in the number 888 BMW Z4 GT3. Finishing second, the Triple Eight Racing pairing completed the one-two for the BMW Z4 GT3 at Brands Hatch. Jon Minshaw (GB) and Phil Keen (GB) from Team Russia by Barwell finished eighth. With their win, Attard and Sims further extended their lead in the overall rankings of the British GT Championship.
