NGK remains Technical Partner of BMW Motorsport in 2010.

Over four years down the line, the successful partnership between BMW Motorsport and NGK Spark Plug Co. Ltd. is entering its next stage: the successful cooperation between the two companies is set to continue long-term, with NGK confirmed as “Technical Partner” of BMW Motorsport. With its headquarters in Nagoya (JP), NGK is one of the leading manufacturers of spark plugs, glow plugs, lambda sensors, temperature sensors, ignition cables, spark plug covers and other sensor products for the automobile industry.

Munich, 8th April 2010. Over four years down the line, the successful partnership between BMW Motorsport and NGK Spark Plug Co. Ltd. is entering its next stage: the successful cooperation between the two companies is set to continue long-term, with NGK confirmed as “Technical Partner” of BMW Motorsport. With its headquarters in Nagoya (JP), NGK is one of the leading manufacturers of spark plugs, glow plugs, lambda sensors, temperature sensors, ignition cables, spark plug covers and other sensor products for the automobile industry.
The NGK logo is prominently positioned on the front fenders of the two BMW 320si WTCC cars, with which Augusto Farfus (BR) and Andy Priaulx (GB) battle for points and victories for BMW Team RBM in the FIA World Touring Car Championship. This season, NGK spark plugs will not only see action on the BMW 320si WTCC. The same applies for the BMW M3 GT2, with which Team BMW Motorsport will compete at endurance races, including the 24-hour classics at the Nürburgring (DE) and in Le Mans (FR).
BMW Motorsport Director Mario Theissen says: “We have been cooperating successfully with NGK for several years now. I am pleased that we are able to continue this partnership this season and beyond. In the World Touring Car Championship and at endurance races every minute detail counts. With NGK products, we know we can depend on ultimate quality and maximum reliability.”
