Programme:
Jacques started in the morning with set-up work and a few runs to evaluate aero
configurations as well as engine cooling. He also evaluated some results
pertaining to the downforce level which were recorded yesterday for the race in
Montreal. In the afternoon the Canadian concentrated on tyre evaluation for the
US Grand Prix. Testing in the afternoon turned out to be a little difficult due
to several red flag interruptions. Nick started a tyre testing programme in the
morning in which he tested different compounds for Indianapolis. During the
first half of the day he concentrated on performance evaluation, whilst
consistency was the focus for the afternoon. Before lunchtime he had stopped on
the track due to a mechanical failure, which was fixed during the lunchbreak.
He then also did some start practice and evaluation of electronic systems. A
further item on the team's to do list is some work on the car's front axle.
Nick started on that today, and Jacques will continue on it tomorrow.

What comes next:
For the third and final day of testing in Monza, Jacques and Robert Kubica will
share driving duties. Jacques will continue running on a medium downforce
configuration as will be required in Montreal and Indianapolis. He will
complete the test programmes he started today. Robert will run in Monza
configuration at a lower downforce level and start some analytical work for the
Italian GP in September.

CO2 emission information.

Fuel consumption, CO2 emission figures and power consumption and range were measured using the methods required according to Regulation VO (EC) 2007/715 as amended. They refer to vehicles on the German automotive market. For ranges, the NEDC figures take into account differences in the selected wheel and tyre size, while the WLTP figures take into account the effects of any optional equipment.

All figures have already been calculated based on the new WLTP test cycle. NEDC figures listed have been adjusted to the NEDC measurement method where applicable. WLTP values are used as a basis for the assessment of taxes and other vehicle-related duties which are (also) based on CO2 emissions and, where applicable, for the purposes of vehicle-specific subsidies. Further information are available at www.bmw.de/wltp and at www.dat.de/co2/.
