Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey, October 19, 2001... BMW Motorcycles has announced
the winner of the R 1200 C Phoenix Sweepstakes. The sweepstakes began in March
at Daytona Bike Week and ended at Sturgis Bike Week. Thousands of customers
registered to win a new 2001 model year R 1200 C Phoenix at numerous BMW
motorcycle events around the country. Sporting two-tone Mandarin/Graphite
paint, BBS alloy wheels, a speedster windscreen, heated handgrips and numerous
other accessories, the Phoenix is one of BMW's top selling cruisers.
On Wednesday, August 29th, the drawing for the winner of the BMW R 1200 C
Phoenix Sweepstakes was held at BMW Motorcycles headquarters in Woodcliff Lake,
New Jersey. Jerry Brandom, of Kansas City, Missouri was the lucky person whose
name was drawn from the thousands of entries collected.
An avid rider and native of Indiana, Jerry has had a long-term relationship
with motorcycles. He rides over 10,000 miles each year and has continually
owned and ridden various motorcycles for the past 42 years. For Jerry, riding
is a family affair spanning three generations. He can frequently be seen
riding with his 72-year-old father Bill, his wife Melody and his daughter,
Monica.
As the winner of the contest, Jerry will be flown to Daytona Beach, Florida to
participate in Biketoberfest where he will be presented with the keys to his
new Phoenix. The award ceremony will take place at noon on Friday, October
19th at BMW Motorcycles of Daytona and everyone is invited to attend and
welcome Jerry into the BMW Motorcycle community.
