¡Un desenlace perfecto y cargado de emociones para el final de temporada DTM para los equipos y pilotos de BMW M Motorsport! Sheldon van der Linde (RSA) terminó tercero en la carrera final en Hockenheimring (GER) para reclamar el campeonato, un día después de que su equipo Schubert Motorsport asegurara el título por equipos.

Van der Linde mantuvo los nervios en el último fin de semana de carreras de la temporada. El sábado, superó una penalización en la parrilla para abrirse camino desde el puesto 16 al segundo. Salió quinto en la parrilla el domingo y luego terminó tercero para alcanzar el podio después de una carrera impecable. Anotó 164 puntos para encabezar la clasificación de pilotos, 11 más que Lucas Auer (AUT, Mercedes) en el segundo lugar. Van der Linde celebró tres victorias y un total de seis podios en su temporada de campeonato. Fue su cuarta temporada en el DTM y la primera para su equipo Schubert Motorsport, que también aseguró el título por equipos en el primer intento. Fue el primero para un equipo BMW M Motorsport en el DTM desde el BMW M Team RMG en 2014. Después de 16 carreras, Schubert Motorsport había acumulado un total de 226 puntos.

CO2 emission information.

Fuel consumption, CO2 emission figures and power consumption and range were measured using the methods required according to Regulation VO (EC) 2007/715 as amended. They refer to vehicles on the German automotive market. For ranges, the NEDC figures take into account differences in the selected wheel and tyre size, while the WLTP figures take into account the effects of any optional equipment.

All figures have already been calculated based on the new WLTP test cycle. NEDC figures listed have been adjusted to the NEDC measurement method where applicable. WLTP values are used as a basis for the assessment of taxes and other vehicle-related duties which are (also) based on CO2 emissions and, where applicable, for the purposes of vehicle-specific subsidies.
