Remaining true to the BMW M brand slogan “The most powerful letter in the world”, the first-ever BMW M Festival in South Africa attracted just under 20,000 people during the two-day show held at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit in Gauteng on Saturday, 21 October and Sunday, 22 October.¶
BMW Motorsport will be racing at the 44th running of the Nürburgring 24 Hours (DE), which takes place on the Nordschleife on 28th and 29th May, with a driver line-up that is both strong and experienced. Eleven BMW works drivers will share the cockpits of the four BMW M6 GT3s, which will be run by the Schubert Motorsport and ROWE Racing teams, with support from BMW Motorsport.

And now two new training courses have been added to the programme which offer the participants the chance to drive the BMW i8 sports car with plug-in hybrid technology. From July 2015 production, BMW M GmbH will replace the existing Competition Package for the BMW M6 Coupe, BMW M6 Gran Coupe and BMW M6 Convertible with an upgraded version. The new Competition Package has been developed with a keen eye on hitting dynamic heights with 441 kW.
BMW takes to the stand at the 16th Auto Shanghai in China from 22 – 29 April 2015 with one world premiere, four Asian premieres and two Chinese premieres. Held every other year since 1985, Auto Shanghai ranks as one of Asia’s leading motor shows. BMW’s new figurehead for the GT racing scene has been given its first run: last Saturday, the test track on the premises of the BMW factory in Dingolfing (DE) provided the stage for the roll-out of the BMW M6 GT3, with which BMW teams will compete in national and international series, as well as at iconic endurance races, from 2016 onwards. The car left the garage for the first time at precisely 14:00 with Jörg Müller (DE) at the wheel.

BMW Motorsport will add a new chapter to its success story in GT racing in 2016. The BMW M6 GT3 will replace the BMW Z4 GT3, which has been in action since 2010. Development work on the new car is already in full swing. The first tests with the car, which is based in the BMW M6 Coupé, are planned for the first quarter of 2015.
