BMW M5 and BMW M3 Touring enjoy South African debut at 2024 BMW M FEST.

BMW M5 powers into a new era.

With 40 years of history under its belt, the legendary high-performance sedan enters its seventh model generation. The executive model from BMW M GmbH now has an electrified drive system for the first time. A model-specific version of the M HYBRID system gives the new BMW M5 (energy consumption, weighted, combined: 1,7 – 1,6 l/100 km and 25,5 – 25,0 kWh/100 km according to WLTP; CO2 emissions, weighted, combined: 39 – 37 g/km according to WLTP; fuel consumption with discharged battery: 10,3 – 10,2 l/100 km according to WLTP) maximum output of 535 kW and peak system torque of 1,000 Nm. The combination of a high-revving V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology and an electric motor, plus power transfer courtesy of an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission and M xDrive all-wheel drive, enables acceleration of 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds.

BMW M3 Touring bolsters BMW’s midsize portfolio in South Africa.

And now the multi-faceted premium midsize portfolio for BMW has been bolstered with the addition of the BMW M3 Touring to the company’s local portfolio. The BMW M3 Touring Competition with M xDrive uses the most powerful version of the six-cylinder in-line engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology to produce 390 kW/650Nm. New design and equipment features, and further advances in the area of digitalisation pave the way for another new chapter in the M3/M4 models’ ongoing success story. This latest stage on their development curve takes the race-car character and long-distance poise and composure of the high-performance premium midsize models to a new level of space and versatility in the BMW M3 Touring.
