  • A four-cylinder turbo engine with 225kW paired with MINI TwinPower Turbo Technology delivers a MINI that is as at home on the racetrack as it is on the road
  • Five vehicles secured for New Zealand are all sold

MINI New Zealand has announced the pricing for the third-generation John Cooper Works GP arriving into New Zealand mid-next year.

The fastest MINI ever promises extreme driving fun and a purist racetrack feeling for buyers. The limited-production MINI – just 3,000 produced globally – has already seen high demand, with eager drivers having purchased the country’s entire allocation.

Launching from $73,900*, the MINI John Cooper Works GP is the most powerful MINI ever to be approved for road use.  The 225 kW four-cylinder turbocharged engine accelerates from zero to 100km/h in just 5.2 seconds. With its windy roads from top to bottom, New Zealand is the perfect playground to make the most of the car’s performance.

“The MINI John Cooper Works GP sets new benchmarks for performance in the premium small car segment,” says Chris Roe, head of MINI New Zealand.

“Bringing MINI’s rich racing history to life, this car is sure to take pride of place for MINI collectors and fans around the country.

As expected, the MINI John Cooper Works GP has been hugely popular in Australia and New Zealand. We are still months away from its arrival, however I can confirm that demand has well and truly exceeded our allocation and all five GPs destined for New Zealand have been sold,” he said.

Boasting impressive engine power, model-specific suspension technology harmonised with John Cooper Works motor racing expertise, weight-optimised construction and precisely defined aerodynamic properties, it’s fair to say this racing machine has set the benchmark in the small car segment.

*Recommended Retail Pricing is shown and includes GST, but excludes on-road and delivery costs. Customers are advised to contact their nearest MINI dealer for all pricing enquiries.

CO2 emission information.

Fuel consumption, CO2 emission figures and power consumption and range were measured using the methods required according to Regulation VO (EC) 2007/715 as amended. They refer to vehicles on the German automotive market. For ranges, the NEDC figures take into account differences in the selected wheel and tyre size, while the WLTP figures take into account the effects of any optional equipment.

All figures have already been calculated based on the new WLTP test cycle. NEDC figures listed have been adjusted to the NEDC measurement method where applicable. WLTP values are used as a basis for the assessment of taxes and other vehicle-related duties which are (also) based on CO2 emissions and, where applicable, for the purposes of vehicle-specific subsidies. Further information are available at www.bmw.de/wltp and at www.dat.de/co2/.
