BMW at the Mille Miglia 2011

When the BMW 328 drew up to the start line for the first time in June 1936, nobody suspected that it would soon become a legend. 75 years on BMW Classic is sending 12 examples of the 328 out on the hot-heeled dash from Brescia to Rome and back. “The Mille Miglia is the race that defines the reputation of the BMW 328 to this day,” explains Karl Baumer, Director of BMW Group Classic. “That’s why, like last year, we’ve brought a record dozen examples of the BMW 328 to Italy.”

Munich /Brescia. When the BMW 328 drew up to the start line for the first time in June 1936, nobody suspected that it would soon become a legend. 75 years on BMW Classic is sending 12 examples of the 328 out on the hot-heeled dash from Brescia to Rome and back. "The Mille Miglia is the race that defines the reputation of the BMW 328 to this day," explains Karl Baumer, Director of BMW Group Classic. "That’s why, like last year, we’ve brought a record dozen examples of the BMW 328 to Italy." Lining up once again alongside the standard production cars will be the racing models, headed by the overall winner of last year’s Mille Miglia – the BMW 328 Touring Coupé. After celebrating its ‘Mille’ premiere in 2010, the long-lost BMW 328 Kamm Coupé has again been entered "out of competition" in the event. BMW Classic teams

CO2 emission information.

Fuel consumption, CO2 emission figures and power consumption and range were measured using the methods required according to Regulation VO (EC) 2007/715 as amended. They refer to vehicles on the German automotive market. For ranges, the NEDC figures take into account differences in the selected wheel and tyre size, while the WLTP figures take into account the effects of any optional equipment.

All figures have already been calculated based on the new WLTP test cycle. NEDC figures listed have been adjusted to the NEDC measurement method where applicable. WLTP values are used as a basis for the assessment of taxes and other vehicle-related duties which are (also) based on CO2 emissions and, where applicable, for the purposes of vehicle-specific subsidies. Further information are available at www.bmw.de/wltp and at www.dat.de/co2/.
